Dear ecological hope blog readers,
I will leave Kentucky soon and then will be back on top of this blog. It was a good break, many contacts, lots to talk about. As I create this new project, I hope you will follow me along.
I have added two new book recommendations, so check them out on the Books I’ve Been Reading page.
I have been following the news about the renewed fears that Bush is planning a military strike on Iran, and that he has not ruled out the possibility of nuclear weapons, especially those that can penetrate the earth and take out buried bunkers.
Besides the horror of this — what this could mean in terms of unleashing an era where nuclear exchange becomes acceptable — just think for a moment of what this would mean in terms of radioactive contamination that would kill and destroy for generations to come.
Which reminds me, remember that many bombs we used in Iraq were coated with depleted uranium. Iraqis continue to be sickened by the leftover contamination from the first Gulf War, and now this debacle.
Please do speak out strongly against the use of nuclear weapons — THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN! — and demand of our government leaders that the US clean up the radioactive contamination that is our responsibility in Iraq.
