Today from Margaret Swedish:
Thought I’d add this post late in the day — England is enduring its warmest April in 350 years.
This is the same country that we posted about earlier, one of the EU nations turning to biofuels that could contribute to global warming. As you will read here, this warming trend fits the predictions for the impact of climate change on Britain.
Of more concern to climatologists, however, are the long-term averages, which look at temperature trends over the past 30 years.
By this measure, April 2007 in central England will be around 3C warmer than average. The month will also be the driest on record in many parts of the country with banks of high pressure keeping April showers at bay.
By the way — deluges in the mid-Atlantic, droughts and wildfires in Georgia and Florida.
Just saying… just thinking… no one weather event proves anything — no one weather event. The pattern — it’s the pattern. And the pattern is cause for concern.
