We highlight a fundamental fact or reality of Nature – that all things are interconnected, that there is nothing we can do to escape the interrelatedness of everything within the whole wild diversity of all that is. Because this is true, if those points of connection are damaged, or worse, destroyed, the impacts radiate out through the webs of all those interconnections. They begin to break down, and what holds the whole together starts to unravel.

It’s time to take seriously the change that is upon us, to accept what is ending, and must be ended. And it is time to start building the communities and networks, the resilience and shared values, the hopes and dreams that can lead us toward new and better ways of life.

The vast network of energy extraction and transshipment lines is being developed now at a fast and furious pace. There is intent here: to build it faster than people are able to become aware of what is being done to their communities, faster than they can organize. The fact that this is happening is proof of the effectiveness of the opposition. And that should encourage us to engage even more in the struggle to save the eco-communities in the places where we live.
